The Google Pixel 8 is Google latest benchmark for a mid range, smaller Android smartphone. The phone comes with sort of a similar design as the Google Pixel 7 albeit with a more rounded off design and different body colours. This 2023 model comes with a slightly smaller display sizing in at 6.2 inches compared to the Pixel 7 which had a 6.3 inch display. Nevertheless, its screen-to-body ratio has increased by the very least which gives it that more modern look. The phone is also slightly lighter now. The 6.2 inches OLED display has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and supports a maximum refresh rate of 120hz. Users will keep in mind though that this display doesn’t support the LTPO technology which is required to drop down the refresh rate of a smartphone display to 1hz while its not being in use. This battery saving technology is only available to the Pixel 8 Pro. Underneath the display is a fingerprint scanner for fast and secure authentication..
The phone comes with Google’s own Tensor G3 chipset which is said to provide much faster response times and superior AI processing capabilities. The Pixel 8 can be obtained with 128GB or 256GB high speed memory and as a typical 2023 smartphone, it doesn’t include an external memory card slot. RAM is fixed at 8GB. The phone also comes with an upgraded 50mp rear main camera and a 12mp ultrawide camera. It is capable of shooting videos at a resolution of 4k which makes it stick out in the average category. Apart from the above, the Google Pixel 8 has a USB 3.2 transfer port and it comes with bluetooth 5.3. Battery is a 4,575 mAh non removable Li-Ion type which can be charged at a maximum charging speed of 27W and is said to charge the phone’s battery to 50% in under 30 minutes. Software is obviously Android 14 which is the latest one yet but Google has now promised to give up to 7 years of updates for this phone making it relatively new in the Android sectora. The Pixel 8 comes in 3 colours which are Obsidian, Hazel, Rose, all of which are rather subtle. In conclusion, while the Pixel 8 is not a leap in time kind of device, it is designed to provide a very small, incremental update over last year’s Pixel 7. If one understands this, the Pixel 8 is definitely a perfect phone, especially for the budget conscious user.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
