NiPoGi CK10 review - The mini PC with an Intel Core i5-12450H and 16 GB RAM falls short of expectations
NiPoGi is a Chinese system manufacturer specializing in mini PCs. The CK10 is a relatively small device fitted with an Intel Core i5-12450H. It also features 16 GB DDR4 RAM and a 512-GB SSD, meaning the device is ready to be used after just a short setup. The manufacturer charges around US$530 for the device — although, there are always discounts available that bring the price down further. This makes it a lot more attractive and may well be the deciding factor when it comes to buying the PC.
Similarly compact and inexpensive mini PCs act as the comparison devices for this review. You can view these in the following table.

Case - Plastic as far as the eye can see
The NiPoGi CK10 features no noteworthy highlights, but this isn't exactly necessary on a simple mini PC meant for office use. The NiPoGi CK10 takes up a space of 13.7 x 12.5 centimetres, meaning it has about an average footprint when it comes to mini PCs.
Its case is made entirely from plastic but its build is good and we noted no gaps. Even so, we would have liked to have seen a slightly more modern and stable case, as it feels a little bit cheap. The Blackview MP200 shows how this can be done differently, despite it also relying on plastic.
Within our comparison field, its 3.7 x 12.5 centimetre footprint is actually on the smaller side. The compact PC has a height of exactly five centimetres. When it comes to materials, it pretty much entirely relies on the use of plastic. The manufacturer has decided against including an additional metal frame to provide structure to the device. However, the implied fingerprint scanner on the upper side has no function. It seems that the manufacturer uses this case for other configuration options, too.
Connectivity - Pretty standard with one exception
The NiPoGi CK10 has a good selection of external ports: Five USB and two HDMI ports are completely sufficient. If you require a VGA connection, then you're in luck — the NiPoGi CK10 has one. The analogue audio output can be found on the left side of the PC. This connection is hardly used nowadays.
Communication
The NiPoGi CK10 relies on a Realtek WiFi module which achieved adequate performance in our test. It only came a few percentage points behind the best devices. For this test, we used the Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 as a test router. The documented transmission rates were stable and slightly better than the Minisforum Venus Series UN1245. Alternatively, the NiPoGi CK10 features an Ethernet connection. It can achieve speeds up to 1 GBit/s.

Scope of delivery
Aside from the PC itself, you also get a 65-watt power supply and a VESA mount which lets you attach the device to a monitor. An HDMI cable and a connection cable for an additional storage device are also included.
Maintenance
The NiPoGi CK10's RAM and SSD can be expanded. The former requires you to swap out the modules, as both SO DIMM slots are occupied. However, this is a different story when it comes to storage devices. In total, the mini PC can accommodate up to three at a time. You can only access the CPU fans if you further take apart the device.
Performance - Alder Lake H with 8 cores and 12 threads
The NiPoGi CK10's Intel Core i5-12450H is a good SoC fitted with P and E cores that can process up to 12 threads at once. As a result, the SoC delivers adequate performance that is well-suited for everyday use. Due to its limited power consumption, the SoC's full performance can't be taken advantage of.
Testing conditions
All performance tests were performed using the energy profile Maximum Performance. The SoC's performance was not changed in the BIOS and was instead left in its delivered state according to the manufacturer's settings. Deviating energy profiles were used for the noise emission and power measurements according to our test criteria.
Processor
The NiPoGi CK10 has an Intel Core i5-12450H installed. With its eight native computing cores, the SoC can process up to 12 threads simultaneously. The manufacturer has limited the SoC's power consumption to 35 watts, which resulted in slightly worse multi-thread performance in our test. In direct comparison to the Minisforum Venus Series UN1245, our test sample couldn't keep up. In the averaged performance comparison, however, you can see that this limitation actually only had a minor impact because the NiPoGi CK10 was able to achieve good single-core performance results despite this power limit.
For further comparisons and benchmarks, take a look at our CPU comparison table.

NiPoGi CK10 vs. Cinebench R15 Multi Loop
The Cinebench R15 continuous loop gives us an insight into how the SoC behaves over a longer period of time. Although the manufacturer has limited the SoC's performance, the cooling unit is quickly overwhelmed under permanent load. When taking a look at the telemetry data, you can see that it completed the first run with its full performance intact. Then, during the second run, its performance already dropped, having a visible effect. Compared to its competitors, the NiPoGi CK10 came second to last.
System performance
Subjectively seen, the NiPoGi CK10 delivers adequate system performance. Within the comparison field, our test device only managed to achieve average results. The NiPoGi CK10 came behind the Minisforum Venus Series UN1245, which shows that its cooling unit is likely also quickly overwhelmed in this area.

Storage devices
NiPoGi has installed a 512-GB NVMe SSD from Neatac into our test sample. Its measurement values show decent performance without being able to stand out from the crowd. The SSD's everyday performance is good and installing our test programs worked without any issues. Its continuous load performance levels are excellent. Here, we noted a constant performance without any drops. The NiPoGi CK10 can be fitted with a total of three storage devices. Aside from the pre-installed NVMe SSD, you can install a further M.2 SSD as well as a 2.5-inch storage device. You just have to make sure that the 2.5-inch drive's height doesn't exceed seven millimetres.

Graphics card
The NiPoGi CK10's integrated graphics unit is the Intel UHD Graphics, the same model as in the Minisforum Venus Series UN1245. The Intel Core i5-12450H's Intel UHD Graphics is an iGPU with 64 EUs. This means that in practical use, both devices are just as fast (with a few performance fluctuations). As is often the case, Intel cannot keep up with AMD with its iGPUs, which led our test sample to not do the greatest. Current iGPUs such as the AMD Radeon 680M or the AMD Radeon 780M offer noticeably better 3D performance.

Gaming performance
The Intel UHD Graphics' low 3D performance also results in lower gaming performance. Modern games can't be run smoothly using the NiPoGi CK10's iGPU. Individual older games are mastered by the graphics unit — although often only with the lowest graphics preset. If you don't want to give up compactness but still require decent gaming performance, then you should take a look at the Minisforum HX99G and the Minisforum NUCXi7. You do have to keep in mind that both of these models featuring dedicated GPUs are in a completely different price range.

Emissions - Frugal and not too loud
Noise emissions
The NiPoGi CK10's noise emission values are neither good nor bad. They much better represent an average result. In idle mode, the fans run quite quietly without getting in your way. Under load, we noted just over 36 dB(A), meaning our test sample achieved the same result as the Minisforum Venus Series NAB6. Compared to the Minisforum Venus Series UN1245, the NiPoGi did considerably better, as its noise emissions of 36 dB(A) under load aren't annoying.

Temperature
In idle mode, the case's temperatures of far below 30 °C are fine. At the same time, its temperatures rose quite a bit during the stress test. However, its values over 40 °C are still nothing to worry about. We noted a maximum processor temperature of 91 °C, which is due to the thermal limit. Moreover, we noted that it only consumed 26 watts under permanent load, while up to 35 watts should be possible. The installed cooling unit is too small to be able to dissipate all of the heat.
(±) The maximum temperature on the upper side is 41.9 °C / 107 F, compared to the average of 34.3 °C / 94 F, ranging from 28.2 to 43 °C for the class Mini PC.
(+) The bottom heats up to a maximum of 39.9 °C / 104 F, compared to the average of 36.3 °C / 97 F
(+) In idle usage, the average temperature for the upper side is 27.8 °C / 82 F, compared to the device average of 31.4 °C / 89 F.
Power consumption
As a result of the Intel Core i5-12450H's low power consumption, we noted good system consumption values under load. The power supply only has to supply a maximum of 62.3 watts. This is considerably less than the Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 which features the same SoC. In turn, the NiPoGi CK10 is happy with a 65-watt power supply — we had no issues using this. The only thing to mention is that its idle values were a little high. This was handled a lot better on Minisforum's device.

Pros
Cons
Verdict - A good SoC, but not enough cooling power
The NiPoGi CK10 is a super-small, simple office PC that is unable to stand out from the crowd. In general, we welcome the use of Alder Lake processors, as it is possible to achieve decent performance levels while also saving energy through the use of a hybrid design. However, the cooling system has to fit in order to prevent an artificial performance restriction, as we saw on the CK10. All-in-all, we measured adequate performance which, unfortunately, suffered when all cores were loaded. The NiPoGi CK10 is still well-suited for simple everyday office use. We didn't measure any noticeable latencies in our test configuration featuring 16 GB RAM and a 512-GB SSD.
The NiPoGi CK10 is a simple mini PC based on an Intel Core i5-12450H. Unfortunately, the SoC remained behind our expectations due to its power restrictions.
Furthermore, good connectivity is important in everyday use. In this aspect, the NiPoGi CK10 offers solid base connectivity options. This sadly doesn't include Thunderbolt or an SD card reader. However, its direct competitor, the Minisforum Venus Series UN1245, also doesn't have these.
If we take a look at the NiPoGi CK10's price, it doesn't look the greatest at first glance. You can currently find it for around US$530. A Minisforum Venus Series UN1245 featuring a similar configuration costs about US$100 less. Sometimes, you can find some great discounts on the PC, which could make the price a lot more attractive.
Price and availability
The NiPoGi CK10 retails for around US$530. At the time of writing, it cannot be found on any US online stores, but you can find it on Amazon.co.uk.
