The brakes are off: The laptop with that special edge is back. In the new 18 mm thin Zenbook, Asus has installed extremely powerful hardware and finally lets it off the leash. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 in our test unit has up to 140 watts at its disposal and is thus in no way inferior to its siblings in many gaming laptops.

Power galore! AMD and Intel are currently competing not only for the consumer performance crown but also for the workstation category. With its Threadripper models, AMD has successfully established itself against Intel. AMD's Threadripper 7000 series CPUs combine 96 native Zen4 cores with a total of 192 threads. This brief evaluation will look at the most recent flagship HEDT CPU.

Harmonious. According to Schenker, the XMG Pro 16 Studio is a "professional workstation for content creation". The specs fit: Core i9, an RTX 4070, Thunderbolt 4 and a 16:10 display (QHD+, 240 Hz). A vapor chamber supposedly ensures optimum heat dissipation and quiet cooling.

Debut for the RTX 2000 Ada. Lenovo no longer offers the ThinkPad X1 Extreme. Instead, the identically built ThinkPad P1 Gen 6 takes over the tasks as a powerful multimedia computer or mobile workstation from now on. We tested the new ThinkPad P1 Gen 6 with the professional Nvidia RTX 2000 GPU and the matte IPS panel with a refresh rate of 165 Hz.

Raptor Lake Part 2. The competition to determine the fastest and all-around best gaming processor is now entering the next round. With today's introduction of the Intel Core i9-14900K, Intel sends a new top model for the 1700 socket into the race. Will this be able to challenge AMD? In addition, we will also be taking a closer look at the Intel Core i5-14600K, which might be the more attractive choice as a good midrange processor.

Fast and Fury-ous. Not much has changed from the outside, but the Raptor Lake-HX and Nvidia RTX Ada upgrades inside are significant and well worth the time for any power users looking to upgrade in the near future.

Precision engineering. Not much has changed from a visual standpoint, but the GPU update from last year's Precision 5470 is significant and worth considering for power users who want to maximize performance from a small 14-inch form factor.

Nvidia RTX 5000 ECC VRAM debut. Dell's latest mobile workstation is one of its leanest and fastest yet mostly thanks to the new Nvidia RTX 5000 GPU. Performance-per-watt is excellent and we hope to see the 165 W USB-C AC adapter on more Dell models.

Workstation Retest. A mobile workstation has to offer high performance in all aspects. We were correspondingly disappointed in the first test of the ThinkPad P16, whose RTX A2000 ran with a handbrake. The retest shows that this was probably a special feature of our first test device.

4x M.2 SSDs + 4x SODIMM. The ZBook Fury 16 G9 is the first 16-inch mobile workstation in the Fury series. Though it comes equipped with plenty of features and even per-key RGB lighting, overall performance misses the mark by just a hair.

Creative beast on a leash. The Galaxy Book3 Ultra's computing power is not visible from the outside. While the RTX 4070 and i9-13900H are definitely the stuff of a powerful gaming laptop, these components are housed in an extremely slim and discreet case. This is only possible with significantly reduced power consumption, which does not hinder performance as much as one might expect.

The last samurai. The Lenovo ThinkPad P15v Gen 3 will be the final ThinkPad with the classic 1.8 mm keyboard. It's also the first workstation model in the ThinkPad series with the AMD Ryzen 6000H series - the mixture of old and new in this relatively inexpensive ThinkPad workstation is exciting.

Entry-level model. Lenovo traditionally like to reuse their T series ThinkPad laptops as workstations. The ThinkPad P14s Gen 3, for example, is the ThinkPad T14 Gen 3's counterpart. Unusual for a mobile workstation: The P14s doesn't have a dedicated GPU.
